New Delhi:
Eight well-known private schools in Delhi were put on alert on Thursday after receiving bomb threat emails, prompting precautionary evacuations and extensive security checks. Delhi Police later confirmed that the threats were not credible and no hazardous material was found at any of the locations.

Officials said the threatening emails were received in a staggered manner between 8:15 am and 9:30 am. The institutions that received the messages included Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Loreto School, Mount Carmel School branches in Dwarka Sector-23 and Anand Niketan, Don Bosco School, Air Force Bal Bharati School, Birla Vidya Niketan, and Amity School.

As a safety measure, students and staff were moved out of the buildings while Bomb Disposal Squads, dog squads and personnel from the Delhi Fire Services conducted systematic searches across the campuses. Authorities said standard emergency protocols were followed at all sites.

In a message issued to parents, Sardar Patel Vidyalaya said the entire campus had been thoroughly checked by security agencies and declared safe, following which classes continued as scheduled. Police also confirmed that the alert received by Mount Carmel School in Dwarka was found to be a hoax.

Senior officers stated that inspections at most schools have been completed without any recovery of suspicious objects. Cyber crime teams have been assigned to trace the origin of the emails and identify those responsible for sending the false threats.

The incident comes a day after a similar security scare in Gurugram, where at least eight schools and the Dwarka court complex received bomb threat messages that were later declared false. Officials noted that Delhi-NCR has witnessed a recurring pattern of hoax bomb threats over the past few years, often causing widespread panic and disruption.

Delhi Police have appealed to parents and school authorities to remain calm, assuring that all necessary steps are being taken to safeguard students and staff while investigations continue.
