A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita pertaining to gang rape, along with sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

Abduction from Wedding Venue

According to police officials, the incident occurred on the night of February 19. The minor had accompanied her mother to attend a wedding function at a guest house in the Barra locality.

Around 9 pm, when family members began searching for her inside the premises, she was found missing. The family alerted the police through a PCR call, prompting immediate action.

CCTV Footage Led to Breakthrough

Station House Officer Ravindra Kumar Srivastava said police began scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding area. Visuals showed two men forcibly taking the girl into a pickup vehicle.

Investigators reviewed footage from more than 250 CCTV cameras to trace the vehicle’s route. The pickup was seen heading toward the Bamba Cut area, following which police set up barricades and intercepted the vehicle.

The two accused, identified as Vinod Gupta and Pintu Diwakar, residents of Jahanabad in Fatehpur district, were taken into custody. The minor was recovered from the vehicle.

Survivor’s Statement

During questioning, the girl told police that the accused approached her outside the guest house on the pretext of asking for directions. She alleged that they then forcibly pulled her into the pickup truck and drove away.

According to her statement, the accused sexually assaulted her during the journey.

The pickup vehicle has been seized and sent for forensic examination. The accused were produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
