The Delhi Traffic Police has announced traffic restrictions and diversions in several parts of the national capital on February 9 in view of an official function scheduled at Rajghat.
According to the traffic advisory, special traffic arrangements will be in force from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, during which vehicular movement may be regulated depending on the movement of dignitaries attending the event at the Mahatma Gandhi Smriti Sthal.
Areas Likely to Be Affected
Commuters may face traffic diversions and intermittent restrictions at several key junctions, including:
- ITO Chowk
- Delhi Gate
- Guru Nanak Chowk
- Shanti Van Chowk
- IP Flyover
In addition, traffic restrictions may be imposed on the following stretches and adjoining roads:
- ITO Chowk to Delhi Gate on Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg
- Shanti Van Chowk to IP Flyover
- Delhi Gate to N S Marg
- Shanti Van Chowk to Nishad Raj Marg
- Rajghat DTC Depot to Ring Road Bypass
Advisory for Commuters
The Delhi Traffic Police has advised commuters, especially those travelling towards the New Delhi Railway Station and the New Delhi district, to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra travel time to avoid inconvenience.
Motorists have also been urged to:
- Follow traffic rules and on-ground instructions
- Remain patient during peak restriction hours
- Cooperate with traffic personnel deployed at major intersections
Authorities said the traffic measures are being implemented to ensure smooth conduct of the official event and public safety.
