The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, has commenced an official visit to Singapore from February 22 to 24, 2026, aimed at strengthening economic cooperation, institutional partnerships, and sector-focused collaboration between Uttar Pradesh and Singapore.

The visit is positioned as part of Uttar Pradesh’s broader outreach to global investors and strategic partners, particularly in infrastructure, technology, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

High-Level Political Engagements Scheduled

During the three-day visit, the Chief Minister is scheduled to hold meetings with Singapore’s top political leadership, including:

  • Lawrence Wong, Prime Minister of Singapore
  • Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for Foreign Affairs
  • Tan See Leng, Minister for Manpower and Minister-in-charge of Energy & Science and Technology
  • Tharman Shanmugaratnam, President of Singapore

The discussions are expected to focus on expanding bilateral economic engagement at the sub-national level, particularly in sectors aligned with Uttar Pradesh’s development priorities.

Focus on Investment and Sectoral Collaboration

The Chief Minister’s programme includes meetings with leading sovereign and institutional investors such as:

  • Temasek
  • GIC

Engagements are also planned with business leaders and corporate executives in sectors including:

  • Data infrastructure
  • Logistics and supply chain management
  • Aviation services
  • Financial services
  • Advanced manufacturing

Officials indicated that the outreach aims to attract long-term capital investments and foster technology partnerships to support Uttar Pradesh’s industrial growth and infrastructure expansion.

Strategic Objectives

The visit comes amid Uttar Pradesh’s push to position itself as a manufacturing and logistics hub, supported by improved connectivity corridors, industrial parks, and policy incentives.

Singapore is regarded as a key global financial and investment centre, and cooperation at the state-to-country level is increasingly being leveraged to accelerate project implementation and knowledge exchange.

What Happens Next

Outcomes of the meetings, including potential memorandums of understanding (MoUs) or investment announcements, are expected to be shared following the conclusion of the visit on February 24.

Officials said the engagement reflects Uttar Pradesh’s strategy of deepening global partnerships to drive economic growth, technology transfer, and institutional collaboration.
