New Delhi:
Weather conditions across North India are expected to undergo a noticeable shift over the coming days, with rainfall forecast for the plains and snowfall likely in the higher reaches of the western Himalayan region, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
IMD officials stated that a fresh western disturbance is likely to impact the region between January 31 and February 2. The system is expected to bring rain and snowfall across Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other mountainous areas, with February 1 being identified as a key day for potentially intense weather activity.
Delhi-NCR Outlook
For January 30, Delhi-NCR is expected to witness generally cloudy skies. Morning hours may see light to moderate haze in several areas. As per IMD projections, the maximum temperature in the national capital is likely to hover between 18°C and 20°C, while the minimum temperature may range from 9°C to 11°C. Light rainfall could further enhance the winter chill.
Impact on Other States
The weather department has also flagged the possibility of fog during early morning and night hours across Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, western Uttar Pradesh and parts of Rajasthan. Additionally, light to moderate rainfall may occur over northwestern and adjoining central parts of India between January 31 and February 3.
IMD Advisory
In view of possible thunderstorms and lightning activity, IMD has urged citizens to strictly follow safety guidelines. People are advised to stay away from isolated trees, avoid open fields during storms, and seek shelter in sturdy structures when warnings are issued. The department has also recommended using the ‘Damini’ mobile application for real-time lightning alerts and weather updates.
RBN News continues to closely monitor the evolving weather situation. With changing conditions likely to affect daily life, travel and agriculture, authorities and residents are advised to remain alert and follow official advisories over the next few days.
