Several schools across the national capital received bomb threat emails on Monday morning, prompting swift action by security agencies. Delhi Police, along with fire services and bomb disposal squads, carried out thorough precautionary checks at the affected institutions. No suspicious objects have been detected so far, officials said.

Among the schools that reported receiving threat emails were Loreto Convent School, Delhi Cantt; Cambridge School, Srinivaspuri; Venkateshwar School, Rohini; Cambridge School, NFC; The Indian School, Sadiq Nagar; Air Force School, Lodhi Road; Bal Bharati School, Rohini; DTA School, INA; KR Mangalam School; and Indian School, among others.

Threats Received in Morning Hours

According to police officials, the emails were noticed by school authorities early in the day, following which emergency services were alerted.
“Bomb threat alerts were received at nine schools in Delhi. Police teams, fire brigade personnel and bomb disposal units were immediately deployed. In South Delhi alone, three schools have reported such threats so far,” a senior police officer said.

Officials added that all the emails were received between 8:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., triggering standard operating procedures for school safety.

No Suspicious Material Found

Emergency response teams conducted systematic searches of classrooms, corridors, playgrounds and common areas. As of the latest update, authorities confirmed that no explosive or suspicious material has been recovered from any of the school premises.

Not the First Such Incident

Police noted that this is not the first instance of bomb threat emails being sent to schools in Delhi. Similar hoax threats have been reported in the past, leading to large-scale security drills and investigations.

Similar Alerts in Chandigarh

In a related development, Chandigarh witnessed a comparable situation earlier this year. On January 28, at least 30 schools—including 22 private and 8 government institutions—received bomb threat emails.

According to Chandigarh Police, anti-sabotage teams, bomb disposal squads, local police, fire brigade, ambulances and PCR units were deployed across the affected schools. After detailed searches, no suspicious items were found, and the threats were later treated as hoaxes.

Investigation Underway

Delhi Police said investigations are ongoing to trace the origin of the emails, identify those responsible, and determine whether the threats are linked to previous incidents. Cyber units have been roped in to analyse email headers and digital footprints.

Authorities have urged parents, students and school staff to remain calm and cooperate with security personnel, assuring that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure student safety.
