Director Vishal Bhardwaj’s action-romance O’Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, has collected Rs 47.93 crore at the Indian box office since its release on February 13.

The film, which was strategically released around Valentine’s Day, was reportedly mounted on a budget estimated between Rs 125 crore and Rs 150 crore. While the opening weekend showed momentum, collections have moderated during the weekdays.

Hrithik Roshan’s Reaction

Actor Hrithik Roshan publicly praised the film on social media platform X, stating that the film’s “quirkiness eventually wins you over.”

He commended Shahid Kapoor’s performance, noting that the actor excels in this genre. Roshan also highlighted one of the action sequences, describing it as particularly effective.

Box Office Performance

O’Romeo opened with Rs 8.5 crore on its first day. The film saw growth on Day 2 with Rs 12.65 crore but experienced a dip on Day 3, collecting Rs 9 crore.

Weekday numbers reflected a steady decline:

  • Monday: Rs 4.85 crore
  • Tuesday: Rs 5.35 crore
  • Wednesday: Rs 3.65 crore
  • Thursday: Rs 3.1 crore

The first-week total stood at Rs 47.1 crore, with industry tracker Sacnilk reporting the cumulative figure at Rs 47.93 crore.

Career Milestones

The film has reportedly become Shahid Kapoor’s seventh highest-grossing film and Triptii Dimri’s third biggest box-office success to date.

However, given the reported production budget, the film will require sustained theatrical performance to approach profitability.

Director’s Statement

Following the release, Vishal Bhardwaj expressed confidence in the project, stating that he was proud of the film’s portrayal of both violence and romance. In a social media note, he thanked his team and described the film as a balanced narrative combining emotional intensity and action.

Outlook

Trade analysts suggest that the film’s second weekend performance will be critical in determining its overall box office trajectory. Positive word-of-mouth and endorsements from industry figures may support collections in the coming days.

Updated figures are expected later as daily box office numbers are consolidated.
