Reacting to the Union Budget 2026–27, IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Deputy Director General Sheetal Kalro expressed a positive assessment of the government’s fiscal approach, highlighting continuity in policy implementation and a strong emphasis on inclusive growth.

Kalro said that several flagship schemes introduced in previous years, including initiatives aimed at entrepreneurship and social development, continue to show visible progress. She noted that programmes such as Mudra Yojana and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao have gained further momentum, indicating sustained government commitment rather than short-term policy shifts.

According to her, the Budget places notable focus on youth empowerment and skill development, which she described as critical drivers for long-term economic strength. Investments in skilling and capacity-building, she said, are essential to preparing the workforce for emerging sectors and future employment opportunities.

Kalro added that when viewed collectively—policy continuity, social sector growth, and targeted investment in human capital—the Budget outlines a framework that positions the economy on a forward-looking and progressive trajectory.

Industry observers believe that such feedback from leading trade bodies reflects growing confidence in a development model that balances social welfare with economic expansion.
